The Raw Edge Team Loves...Chanel SS11 PFW
Chanel's shows are always unforgettable. Its as if the décor tells the story behind the collection and vice versa. This PFW, Lagerfeld's recreation of the Versailles gardens was truly phenomenal. The Raw Edge Team were once again inspired by Chanel's SS Collection; 'The extraordinary workmanship of these pieces suited the grandeur of their setting' (Vogue.com)

Alexander McQueen's Memory Lives on...
At a memorial service to commemorate the life of designer Alexander McQueen; Anna Wintour, SJP, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Stella McCartney paid tribute alongside friends and family at St Pauls Cathedral during London Fashion Week. Wintour during her address at the ceremony reflected :
'his designs took you into a world of sensation where you could be shocked, repulsed or thrilled... [he was] "special" because he designed the "most exquisite couture dresses and at the same time had a real impact on how the world dressed".
Sarah Burton his work partner of 15 years stepped up and gave us a collection at PFW that signalled a respectful 'farewell Lee and welcome new ideas'. Without a doubt his legacy will live on.

LFW Report
Fashion Week is our favourite time of the year; in the Raw Edge Team's Calendar! A chance for the team to step out of the office and prance around London in their glad rags attending shows, exhibitions, parties etc! Thus when we got our invite for the off schedule A La Mode show we just had to be there, held in a delux saloon in the Charring Cross Hotel. The show featured 7 young rising designers. Our favourites included the opening collection, Amato Couture by Furne One (Dubai-based designer recently commissioned to design for Heidi Klum and Germany's Next Top Model).
We also loved Lipop London (menswear designer as featured on Project Catwalk and past apprentice of Henry Holland). Our favourite piece had to be the leather hooded backpacks!!

NYFW Report
With New York Fashion Week over and the excitement of it coming to an abrupt end, I’m back in grey London but I must relive the best moments I had during NYFW with you all.
For most of the week I was at the new fashion week location, the Lincoln Centre running in and out of shows but surprisingly one of my favourite shows was an off schedule celebrity runway showcase by twin duo designers, SACHIKA. With Elle magazine sponsoring the SACHIKA show, I knew as soon as I got my invite that the show was not one to be missed. Celebs like Angela and Vanessa Simmons, Dawn Richards, the cast of The Real Housewives of Jersey plus many more took to the runway and my oh my did they own it! Especially in CoCo’s case (wife of American rapper, Ice T)…who’s body screamed out much more than her outfit did! Peep pictures/video from the event below.
The week brought on many surprises, one of my favourite happened to be getting to see a friend of mine walk in NYFW for the very first time! Sarah Latham, of Major Model’s walked in the Argentine Group Show and I’ve got to say I was a very proud friend!
What truly made my week just that little bit more special was bumping into ‘The City’s’ very own Kelly Coutrone. She is lovely and her humorous irony had me in stitches!
So there you have it, a little glimpse into my New York Fashion Week diary! Being a part of the Raw Edge Team is not always glamorous but this week was most definitely an exception to that rule! :D

Ode to Solange...
The Raw Edge Team are in awe of the Solange Knowles, a star in her own right. Regular readers of our blog will know of our appreciation for this young lady, who continues to impress us.
The beautifully fierce, musician, dj, fashionista and mother is finally receiving the recognition and appreciation she has long deserved. Upon the release of 'Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreamers' (office playlist) we knew she was one to watch!! We even got the opportunity to witness her rock the house, whilst djing with Bey grooving at her side @ Brooklyn Bowl, NY!!!
However not only is she musically talented she has been running ahead in the style stakes for the past few years. I quote a British fashion weekly who pictured Solange next to style icons Diane Kruger and The SJP ,
''Solange looks great at the moment. She's stopped trying to look like every other R&B singer and developed her own style. She's putting it out there - and deserves credit for that''.
