The Raw Edge Team look forward to A/W for a few reasons; other than the launch of our new collection and Fashion Week.. it means its time we can bring out the furs & whip out the leather. I have always appreciated a biker leather jacket or any kind of leather bottoms... but this season we will be fully embracing all things leather, ok PETA... faux leather. I am particularly enjoying the over usage of leather detailing this season. We will totally be rocking our leather skirts, shorts or trousers with a blouses with leather collars/ leather sleeved blazer with our leather boots.. Leather overload.... maybe, but we just love it. Our love has been further encouraged by the AW 11 Catwalks going crazy for the fetish trend and the celebs who have been brave enough to take on the look. This may be a recurring trend but we can guarantee your can spot a member of the Raw Edge Team, during fashion week, at some corner of the globe, in some kind of leather detailed get up. Who knows, our AW Vintage collection may have a splash of leather up in there too??
Still undecided about our men in leather trousers... Thoughts?
Vashtie Kola for some time now, has been an inspiration to us. The Trinidadian New Yorker, known for her signature alluring tomboy style, has made her mark in film, fashion and music industries; through work as a director, DJ, promoter and photographer. Featured in the NY Times and other fashion publications, Vashtie has been on our watch list for a while. Whilst in NYC we had the chance to attend her party hosted with Q-Tip. Creatives and hip hop heavyweights vibed to classic anthems, making it a great night! We had the opportunity to havea quick chat with Vashtie. Uber-talented, beautiful, down to earth and she is a fan of vintage! Check out her work at http://vashtie.com/.
Could not wait until the end of the month so we thought we would share with you what and whom is getting much love at REB HQ this month.
Chanel Fall Winter 2011/2012 Couture Fashion Week
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - because she is british, because she was a Victoria's Secret angel, also because she wore this Gucci number (below) to the Transformers Permiere, & most importantly because she is absolutely stunning.
Ankle Boots - if you are a resident of the UK/ Europe or even the eastcoast of the states, you may be used to not so summery summers, random rainfall disrupting the occasional heatwave. Here at REB HQ ankle boots our are essential to get us through the 'summer' and thankfully a great transitional piece for AW! A fab way to toughen up cute vintage summer looks are with these Acne boots.
This young lady is the latest 'it' girl on the scene.. Most likely to be spotted on the pages of fashion magazines, new Forever 21 Campaign or djing to the whose who of the fashion industry, or just casually posing on the red carpet! We first became acquainted with her by stumbling acrosss her quircky to say the least blog, instantly loved her prim/mishmash styling & complimentary RANDOM annotations/illustrations sprawled all over her blog! Confused much... Have a look for yourself -
Big Destinys Child fans here at REB HQ (ode to the 90s/early noughties) & subsequently part of the Beyonce appreciation club! After the opportunity to see her I am tour live , followed by her Glasto set it was only right that we took a trip down to Itunes & copped 4 !! Not too sure how she could top her past bangers... & were convinced that she needs to settle down and play house... but after a listen of 4 it is now on HEAVY rotation at REB HQ! Fav tracks are Best Thing I Never Had, COUNTDOWN, End of Time, 1+1, I Was Here ... basically the whole shabang! Also appreciating all her latest editorial work! The Knowles girl really know how its done...

MINTED
Mint nails, current beauty obsession; looks great with our summer glow, get involved!
Friendly Fires - Their material is always a good summer soundtrack, totally loving all the remixes to Haiwain Air. More importantly we cant get enough of their front man's dancing, we even had the pleasure to witness it at last year's wireless festival. LEGENDARY!!
If you are currently having dilemmas on how to style your hair this summer, do not fear the Raw Edge Team have just a few ideas for you!!!
1. The sleek neat high pony tail- loving the simplicity but undermined glamour in this chic style, always a winner with statement outfits ! Try this with a side or middle parting ladies for added effect.
Chanel SS11
2. Rainbow Locks - Get Lauren Conrad's fun look this summer! 3. Just got out of bed waves- we all do it after a night out but for it now to be trendy is even better! Add some moose and hairspray and your good to go if your not as rock and roll at the time try some wave spray. Paul Smith' Sea Salt Wave Spray always enhances mine.
Also try v05 instant oomph powder for flat hair it works magic if you want more volume to add to the look? Please note:Curling tongs and Aussie heat spray are another option!
4.Be a braided beauty -whether it's across the front, hanging on the side or all back in a fishbone plait, braided in a bun or to the side braids are sooo in ...again!
The REB Team had major 'Glaston-envy' this time round... couldn't make it to this years festival, but boy were watching closely from the sidelines. Beyonce, first woman ever to headline Glasto, stunned her critics into silence by showing the rest of the world why she 'runs this mutha.." by her phenomenal all singing and all dancing set in HEELS!! Her performance rebirthed some good old 90s girl power spirit within the REB Team as she belted out bangers including 'say my name', 'irreplaceble' & her much loved new single here at REB HQ 'best thing I never had'...
Check out what the rest of the 'Girls' wore to Glasto....
